The Falset (Priorat) musician Lluís Capdevila decided to go to New York at the age of 25, with the intention of growing professionally and expanding his expressive and creative horizons. He stayed there for nine years, training at the Aaron Copland School of Music and at Stony Brook University, and sharing stages with Ray Anderson, Ugonna Okegwo and Elliot Zigmund, as well as carving out a place for himself on the local club circuit. All these experiences during those years began to take shape in the form of compositions, which were the starting point for Diaspora. This album concentrates intense emotions into nine brilliant tunes, telling of the dispersal of his generation, driven abroad in search look for working opportunities. Although the Greek double bass player Petros Klampanis and the drummer Luca Santaniello took part in the recording, today the Catalan pianist will condense his music into a duo format, alongside the emerging talent of Klampanis.
