One more year, the Summer Nights at la Pedrera festival devotes a weekend to the UnderPool record label. UnderPool, based in Barcelona, records and publishes a lot of works by a new generation of highly talented musicians, an exceptionally productive and restless generation that has deservedly earned the recognition from both the critics and the audience.

Juan Pablo Balcazar is a renowned double bass player with a long career in the world of jazz. He will be at la Pedrera to introduce the Chivas Quartet.

With this new project, Balcazar intends to combine the most modern jazz language with the melodies and harmonies that define the traditional Colombian music. This work was recorded in the album that he presents in this concert, along with an outstanding quartet. All in all, a great opportunity to discover a new vision of the Colombian folklore.
