The temporary exhibition rooms are on the main floor of La Pedrera. Since their inauguration in 1992 with the show “Avantgardes in Catalonia” the exhibitions have been a fundamental reference point that has contributed to making La Pedrera a leading cultural centre.
The exhibitions, organised and produced by the foundation itself or in association with other institutions, aim to bring to the general public artists and art movements that have been milestones in cultural creation.
The rooms have shown the work of artists such as Durer, Goya, Malevich, Rodchenko, Kandinsky, Chagall, Dalí, Giacometti or Chillida, and subjects including Pre-Columbian art, the drawings of the Renaissance, Japanese prints, Russian icons or European photography.

Casa Milà, popularly known as «La Pedrera», is a most unusual building, constructed between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) and declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1984. Today it is the headquarters of Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera and houses a cultural centre that is a reference point in Barcelona for the range of activities it organises and the different spaces for exhibitions and other public uses it contains.
