INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES 

Because the aforementioned amendment to the Information Society Services Act (LSSICE), established by Royal Decree 13/2012, has come into force, it is obligatory to obtain users’ express consent, before browsing, for all websites using non-essential cookies.

 

WHAT ARE COOKIES? 

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and recover information about their visitors and to offer a site that works correctly.

Using these devices allows the web server to remember certain data about users, such as their preferences for displaying pages from the server, names and passwords, products they are most interested in, etc.

 

COOKIES AFFECTED BY THE REGULATIONS AND EXEMPT COOKIES 

According to the EU directive, the cookies requiring informed consent from users are analytics cookies and advertising and affiliation cookies. Technical cookies and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly demanded by the user are exempt. 

 

WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES ARE THERE?

There are five main groups of cookies:

  • Analytics cookies: these collect information about the use made of the website.
  • Social cookies: these are necessary for outside social media.
  • Affiliation cookies: these make it possible to monitor visits from other websites with which the website has an affiliation contract (affiliated companies).
  • Advertising and behavioural cookies: these collect information about users’ personal preferences and choices (retargeting).
  • Technical and operational cookies: these are strictly necessary for the use of the website and the provision of the service contracted.

 

COOKIES WE USE ON OUR WEBSITE 

  • PHPSESSID: a strictly necessary technical cookie containing the session identifier. It is deleted when the browser is closed.

  • _lang: a strictly necessary technical cookie containing the session language. It is deleted when the browser is closed.

  • _lang: a strictly necessary technical cookie containing the value expressing whether cookie installation has been accepted. It expires one year after the last update.
  • _ga: a cookie from Google Analytics Universal enabling the single visit control function. The first time a user enters the website using a browser, this cookie will be installed. When the user enters the website again with the same browser, the cookie will know that it is the same user. Only if the user changes browser will it be considered as a different user.   • _gat: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. It is used to restrict the request speed, limiting data collection in high-transit areas. It expires in 10 minutes.
  • _gid: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. This is used to distinguish users. It expires in 24 hours.

 

REVOKING CONSENT TO INSTALL COOKIES
HOW TO DELETE COOKIES FROM YOUR BROWSER

Chrome

1. Select the Tools icon.
2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on Show Advanced Options.
4. In the Privacy section, click on Content Settings.
   • Delete cookies: Click on All cookies and site data...
   • Do not allow cookies to be stored.
5. Click on Clear browsing data (empty Memory cache).
6. Close and restart the browser.

Internet Explorer. Version 11

1. Select Tools | Internet Options.
2. Click on the General tab.
3. In the Browsing history section, click Clear browsing history on exit.
4. Select Delete files.
5. Select Delete cookies.
6. Click Delete.
7. Click OK.
8. Close and restart the browser.

Firefox. Version 18

1. Select Firefox | History | Clear recent history.
2. Next to Details, click the downward arrow.
3. Select the following check boxes: cookies, cache, active logins.
4. Using the Time range on the drop-down menu, select All.
5. Click Clear now.
6. Close and restart the browser.
