The main floor was the residence of the Milà-Segimon couple. Today it houses the exhibition space of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and allows visitors to discover original Gaudí features, from the open-plan layout and stone columns, some of them inscribed, to the decorated ceilings that once covered the rooms.
The Nabis: from Bonnard to Vuillard
An exhibition on the Nabis at La Pedrera, the first monographic exhibition in Barcelona devoted exclusively to this key movement of artistic modernity.
About the exhibition
La Pedrera presents The Nabis: from Bonnard to Vuillard, the first major monographic exhibition in Barcelona devoted exclusively to this key movement of artistic modernity. The exhibition brings together a wide selection of works created between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, offering a journey that reveals the aesthetic and conceptual principles of a group that played a fundamental role in the transition from Impressionism to the early avant-gardes.
The art of the Nabis invites a careful and sensitive gaze. Through colour, form and compositional rhythm, the works explore the decorative nature of painting and its ability to integrate into everyday life. Visitors enter a universe where painting, decorative arts and architecture engage in constant dialogue, and where art is conceived as a holistic experience.
More than an exhibition, The Nabis: from Bonnard to Vuillard offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the creative imagination of a movement that championed the unity of art and paved the way towards modernity, in full harmony with the modernist architecture of La Pedrera.
