Mingus Reunion
Mingus Reunion is a unique tribute to one of the most powerful and distinctive figures in the history of jazz: Charles Mingus. The project takes listeners on a journey through some of his compositions, combining the rhythmic power, emotional intensity and free-spirited nature that define his music.

About the concert
Mingus knew how to blend the roots of the blues with the avant-garde of the 20th century, creating a sonic universe full of contrasts: moments of great lyricism coexist with explosive passages and spaces open to improvisation, highlighting both the collective power of the group and the personality of each performer.
The project is led by guitarist Àlex Fortuny, a lecturer in the Department of Jazz and Modern Music at the Liceu Conservatory of Music. He is accompanied by a young ensemble, made up of students from the Conservatory, who approach the music with daring, respect and creativity.
