La Pedrera Magical Vision will take you to an unparalleled space at La Pedrera through the most cutting-edge technology, lets you combine the vision of the real environment with spectacular holographic elements. Thanks to the Mixed Reality glasses, you'll travel to different eras and environments; you'll feel like you are part of the building's history.
And with La Pedrera Essential visit, you'll discover first hand how nature inspired the building. You'll get the chance to discover at your own pace spaces such as the Warrior Rooftop; the Whale Attic with the exhibition on Gaudí and his work, located in the attics; the Tenants’ Apartment, which recreates the life of a bourgeois family from Barcelona in the first third of the 20th century; the Flower Courtyard and the Butterfly Courtyard.

The mezzanine
A new space open to the públic
With La Pedrera Magical Vision, you'll have the privilege of visiting the La Pedrera mezzanine, a space that, until now, has never been open to the public. Over the years, the mezzanine has been used for different purposes: everything from a boarding house, a school to offices. Now you can take a tour through this one-of-a-kind space that surrounds the Butterfly Courtyard and follows the architectural line of the Casa Milà. With this visit, you'll see the real elements: the furniture, the ceilings, the paving and the unique murals paintings designed by Gaudí, combined with breathtaking holograms so you can immerse yourself even more in the universe of the fantastic architect.

The Warrior Rooftop
A unique achievement that defies classification
Casa Mila has a unique rooftop, an icon of Barcelona, that bears no resemblance whatsoever to the architecture of Gaudi’s day. The main features—stairwells, ventilation towers and chimneys—are positioned in such a way that they follow the undulating shape and rhythm of the main façade. These elements rise up like telluric forces of nature—earth, water, fire and air—and call to mind the heads of knights. With their intriguing dynamic and symbolic shapes, they serve the utilitarian purpose for which they were designed. Some of them are faced with trencadís made of ceramic to cover their curving surfaces; in other instances, the trencadís is made of stone, marble or glass. Another impressive feature of this spot is the spectacular views out over the city of Barcelona, 360º views.
The Whale Attic
Discover Gaudi and his work
The Gaudí Exhibition is in the attic of the Milà House, in the Whale Attic. Un dels llocs amb més caràcter de l’arquitectura gaudiniana, on antigament hi havia els safareigs i els trasters. To enter this space is to enter a great living being – a whale – breathing and welcoming us. Està format per 270 arcs catenaris de maó pla i acull l’única exposició dedicada a Antoni Gaudí i tota la seva obra. L’espai es divideix en set àmbits, un dels quals està dedicat íntegrament a La Pedrera, on hi trobareu maquetes i plànols, objectes i dissenys, fotografies i vídeos.
The Pedrera Apartment
Life a hundred years ago
This show apartment on Casa Mila, open to visitors during the day, recreates the home of a bourgeois family in Barcelona in the opening 30 years or so of the 20th century. Visiting it takes you on a journey back in time so you can see the décor of the day thanks to the furnishings and household utensils and other equipment. This apartment reveals how the architect sought to enhance the exclusive character of the rented homes by means of the exquisite decorative finishes and the creation of spacious rooms designed to guarantee tenants’ comfort.
The Flower and the Butterfly Courtyards
Living nature in full colour
On the Flower Courtyard (in Passeig de Gràcia) and the Butterfly Courtyard (in Carrer Provença), you will discover two large open courtyards that organise the entire floorplan in an organic manner. Vehicles would enter via the main doors of Casa Mila, pass through the interconnecting courtyards and make their way down the ramp to the basement. The unusual feature of these courtyards is the arrangement of the windows, which facilitate natural lighting and ventilation to the apartments. On the walls are murals in every colour, featuring floral motifs, scenes from myths and legends and polychrome details. Once again, the inspiration of the architect Gaudi drew from nature reveals itself in this building.
