La Pedrera hosts the first exhibition in Barcelona dedicated to the work of Anselm Kiefer, one of the most influential artists in contemporary art, in an exceptional project organised by Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera. The exhibition offers a focused and meaningful approach to his conceptual universe through a selection of around forty works from the private collection of Hans Grothe, one of the most important collections devoted to the artist, complemented by pieces from other private collections.
Through an intense and carefully curated journey, the exhibition reveals the symbolic and material complexity of Kiefer’s work, highlighting the coherence of an artistic project that unfolds across multiple forms and media, painting, sculpture, installation, photography and artist’s books. «The Secret Life of Plants. Anselm Kiefer in the Grothe Collection» invites visitors to enter into a profound reflection on memory, matter and knowledge.
