Activity at La Pedrera:
Les Montses & Cinema en curs
In this session we combine the lively music of Les Montses with collective images from the Cinema en Curs education project. Accompanied by film-makers, boys and girls aged between 14 and 18 will create audiovisual pieces to form part of this unique concert.
Les Montses is a music group formed by Ferran Rosell (vocals and guitar), Xavier Esteve (bass), Joan Prat (keyboards) and Josep Bofill (drums). Each of them has a mother called Montserrat, which is why they are called "Les Montses” (Montse is the shortened, familiar form of the Catalan girl’s name). But the folk-rock band from Sant Vicenç dels Horts (Baix Llobregat) aim to be taken seriously. Founded in 2015 under the name Eivibonny, in 2018 they made their debut album in Catalan: Cor Valent (Krik Music). Their new album shows their commitment to preserving their distinctive folk essence while updating it with digital touches and brass.
CINEMA EN CURS
Cinema en Curs is a film teaching programme for colleges and secondary schools, begun in 2005. Current and former students were asked to film sequences and scenes inspired by Les Montses’ songs as part of the programme of experimental cinematographic work done during its workshops. Their sequences are the pieces that will accompany the Les Montses concert.
