Eddie Mejia Quartet
Eddie Mejia presents his new album, «A moment in Transition», released by Fresh Sound Records, alongside graduate Adrià Pinto, on double bass, and professors Bill McHenry on saxophone and Ramon Prats on drums. Eddie Mejia, a Mexican musician and composer currently based in Barcelona, began playing guitar at the age of 11 with the influence of jazz, blues, folk, improvisation and other styles of music. Born and raised in San Luis Potosi, Eddie began his career with pianist Samuel Martinez Herrera. Later on, he moved to Barcelona to begin his higher studies at Liceu Conservatory, where last year he graduated and was a finalist of the Extraordinary Prize for Jazz and Modern Interpretation. At the Conservatory, he studied with professors Bill McHenry, Jordi Bonell and Jaume Llombart, among others.
